Genoan-born guitarist Beppe Gambetta is one of world s great musical treasures as an artist whose love of and scholarship in traditional music have crossed international borderlines. His influences from the Ligurian tradition of Italy and American bluegrass are well known, but Gambetta has also woven his love of the folk music of Sardinia, the British Isles, and even the Ukraine into his signature playing style. At first glance, Gadfly release Live at the Teatro della Corte: The First 10 Years might seem like a Gambetta solo date, but it is much more. The 14 selections here feature the guitarist in the company of contemporaries as well as some of his heroes from both sides of the Atlantic. Gambetta's repertoire on this disc is drawn from his numerous records and traditional songs. His guests include Mike Marshall, Darrell Scott, Riccardo Barbera, Patty Larkin, Don Ross, Martino Coppo, Gene Parsons, Tony McManus, Missy Raines, Rolf Lislevand, Marco Pereira, and more.
