England's Royal Ballet mounted this 2009 production of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker - one of the Yes hallmarks of the holiday season, which finds sweet young Clara getting swept into a lavish fantasy after one of her Christmas presents springs to magical life. This version stars Miyako Yoshida as The Sugar Plum Fairy, Steven McRae as The Prince, Gary Avis as Herr Drosselmeyer, and Iohna Loots as Clara. Peter Wright adapted Lev Ivanov's original choreography, Peter Wright did the production and scenario, and Christopher Carr did the staging. The Orchestra of the Royal Opera House lends symphonic accompaniment under the baton of Koen Kessels.
