Digitally remastered and expanded edition including six bonus tracks. Zapp was a band out of Dayton,Ohio that pioneered in the latest technical developments and advancements in the music industry. They were among the first funk outfits to experiment with electronic and synthesized sounds, most notably the vocoder aka the talkbox, with extraordinary effects. In fact, Zapp & Roger used these elements in their music so often that it became their specialty sound. Roger Troutman also executed those loud and thunderous electro-handclaps in a lot of Zapp & Roger albums. This album released in 1985 is Zapp's crowning achievement in studio recording. The New Zapp 4 U is blazing from start to finish and all the jams are indispensable funk classics. Zapp created a synthelistic and groovelistic stratosphere on this classic. Standout tracks include the dance smashIt Doesn't Really Matter, the vocoder-whipped groove, Computer Love, the deliriously funky cut Itchin' For Your Twitchin', the smooth synth jam Radio People, Rock n Roll, and Zapp's excellent and remarkable rendition of I Only Have Eyes For You.
